Singapore's Sustainable Fashion: A New Year Capsule Collection by Design Orchard

Embarking on the New Year with a sustnable wardrobe? Design Orchard presents an exclusive capsule collection that highlights beautiful creations from some of Singapore's beloved local labels. Supported by Royal Golden Eagle, a global group managing resource-based manufacturing companies worldwide from its headquarters in Singapore, this initiative underscores the fusion of local talent and eco-frily materials.

The launch was celebrated last week with enthusiasm from VIP guests, media representatives, and members of the Singapore Fashion Council. This collaborative effort featured six homegrown labels - Sabrinagoh, Caeli Eco Luxe, Pinksalt, Junglesuit, Salient Label, and Ikkikidz - who were commissioned to design striking pieces that align with their distinctive styles while embodying a shared commitment to sustnability.

Each designer utilized 250 yards of rayon fabric sponsored by Royal Golden Eagle, which is derived from sustnably sourced renewable materials like wood cellulose. This capsule collection encompasses a range of offerings from delicate dresses and versatile separates to beachwear, including adorable pieces for children.

Fashion enthusiasts have until January 21st to explore this unique pop-up shop within Design Orchard on Orchard Road, while the collection will remn avlable at each brand's respective retl locations thereafter. Moreover, Design Orchard offers a plethora of new homegrown brands as well as its Chinese New Year 'Orchard of Abundance' collection.

Here’s a glimpse into the six featured designers and their eco-conscious rayon designs:

1. Sabrinagoh: Sabrina Goh launched her eponymous contemporary fashion label in 2009, gning popularity among Singaporean women for its minimalist design, playful detls, and innovative silhouettes. This capsule collection showcases Sabrina’s expertise with textiles and craftsmanship while mntning the brand's signature practicality.

2. Caeli Eco Luxe: Sustnability is at the core of this contemporary chic fashion brand established in 2020. Closely collaborating with communities in its supply chn, it shares a vision to produce high-quality garments using sustnable fabrics. The collection features dresses, structured tops and bottoms that seamlessly transition from office wear to casual evenings.

3. Pinksalt: Known for its resort-chic swimwear and beach apparel, Pinksalt’s rayon maxi dresses offer the perfect bl of casual elegance in this capsule collection. Adorned with original tropical prints, these pieces are perfect for seaside outings or can be dressed up for dinners and dates alike.

4. Junglesuit: Junglesuit, founded by expats Andrea and Catherine, is a favorite among readers of Expat Living Singapore due to its use of breathable eco-frily fabrics like sustnable rayon and cotton in their designs. The capsule collection features relaxed styles, including mid-length shift dresses, tops, and bottoms.

5. Salient Label: Dedicated to slow fashion and effortless aesthetics, Salient Label crafts garments using sustnable materials such as Cupro, EcoVero, and Tencel. This capsule collection includes sleek shift dresses, shirts, and pants that exude a ld-back charm.

6. Ikkikidz: Promoting eco-frily clothing for children, Ikkikidz encourages kids to express themselves through their sustnable garments featuring cute graphic designs with personality. The collection showcases cute dresses and separates adorned with playful graphics suitable for little ones.
